Third Great Lesson: Humans Come to Earth
As we have seen in the second great lesson the Earth
transformed from being a hot barren
planet into a place blooming with life and beauty. The Earth now been filled
with insects, amphibians, reptiles, fish and mammals. The dinosaurs became instinct
and the Earth continents been formed.
We can see the way Allah SWT gradually prepared this Earth
for a special someone to come. Just imagine the Mercy of Allah to make this
Earth perfect for the human beings to come.
Presentation: Review with the students story of Adam AS and how him and
Hawa were sent to Earth. You can also mention that Allah SWT created Adam AS
from different color soil. Put sand, flour and soil in different jars and then
pour it into one big jar and mix it.

After Adam AS and Hawa were sent to Earth they had many
children and they learned how to survive on the Earth, how to hunt, fish, build
shelters. People multiplied and spread far and wide. Early humans figured out
how to stay warm and protect themselves from insects and animals. All the
humans have similar needs but early humans did not have the same ways available
to meet those needs.
Just imagine a life without stores, cars, money, Tvs, planes
and so on. Imagine how fresh the world was for the first humans!
Allah SWT created humans very smart and gave them large
brains, ability to think and to survive. Allah SWT also created all the humans
on Fitra, which means every human knows there is One Ultimate God who created
them.
Allah SWT also gave humans great tools, their own bodies.
Hands for grasping the objects, and feet as means of moving
and running.
Presentation: Let children look at their hands especially the thumb
which can be turned and used for grasping. Explain that hands were the first tools humans
used.

Later on early humans developed more tools that helped them
to make their lives a lot easier. At first they used stones and they learned
how to sharpen those stones and could also make a hummer by tying it with a
reed or something similar.
Presentation: Show children examples of earliest tools such as stones,
heavy tree branches and etc…

Beside hunting, humans also noticed other source of food
available for them such as berries, seeds, different leaves and so on. We call
humans who hunt and gather hunter-gatherers.
Early humans also noticed that some of the plants made them
feel better and that’s how they discovered very first medicines.

So there was no transportation and humans used to walk
everywhere. They used to stop and took shelter in caves. At that time humans
expressed themselves through cave art, which they left behind on the walls of
the caves. They used crashed berries and different color mud as paint.
Presentation: show children pictures of cave art.

After thousands year passed by, humans improved their lives
significantly.
Their dwellings improved and humans used animal skins,
stones and other things to build their homes.
Then early humans made another great discovery. Humans
discovered Fire. May be it was by accident when someone was rubbing stones or
sticks together and saw a spark, but Allah SWT caused this amazing discovery to
happen which eased humans lives significantly. Humans discovered many uses of
the fire. They were able to warm their dwelling and to cook meat.
Later on humans learned to domesticate animals and use them
as companions as well as means of transportation . They also learned how to
keep a herd of sheep or goats for food and milk and also used some animals for
carrying heavy loads.

Humans began weaving baskets and making containers for food.
And they also made another important discovery, which is growing things by
scattering seeds. That time was the beginning of farming.

Humans designed a
special tool called a mortar and pestle to crush kernels and spices.
Presentation: Show children grain in a mortar and pestle.
Over time many more discoveries happened, such as discoveries
of important metals like copper and bronze. Humans were able to make better
tools for their lives and even made some jewelry.
Presentation: Examine some items made from copper, like coins, copper
wires and etc…
As time went on many humans stopped wandering and settled in
their places. They started establishing communities, villages and etc…
Humans also started trading with each other and began
developing their own distinct cultures.
For example, they would act the same and dress the same, eat
similar foods, build similar shelters.
Allah SWT sent many messengers over long period of time. And
every messenger came to preach to their people with the same message to worship
one God. Some people believed and followed and some denied the Prophets and
denied the One Ultimate Creator.
One of the most distinct part of each culture was the
language they spoke.
As we learned from the story of Adam AS Allah SWT taught
Adam the names of all things and Adam has taught his family and children the
language he knew. Over time that spoken language changed as people spread on
Earth.
But there was no written language as yet. Just imagine the
world without books and without writing of any kind. Something amazing was happening at that time
to the language, which we are going to learn in the next Story InshaAllah.
This is awesome. Did you ever get a chance to share the 4th and 5th great lessons?
